Shannon began her career as a marketing executive for a national food delivery franchise, and later served as president of a regional, quick-service food chain. Today, she is the co-owner of an Internet media company and also maintains a consulting firm specializing in business communications and web strategy. Shannon is also an established freelance writer covering high tech, security and defense, and small business issues.
Education:
After beginning her academic career at one of the top engineering schools in the nation, Shannon instead chose to pursue a liberal arts education. In 1993, her formal education was cut short when she was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug, and she officially traded in her academic robes. Even so, her educational background, a double major in psychology and communications, has continued to provide her with an advantage in the world of small business.
